Chasing for the title

Yesterday Barça won 3-0 over Valladolid playing away, and they are getting closer to the top of the table, just 2 points behind third place, and then they work from there. Messi had a spectacular game, with 1 goal, 1 assist, 1 pre-assist, 7 shots on target (11 in total), 2 shots on the post, 5 dribbles, 1 big chance created, 6 ground duels won, 1 tackle, 1 long ball, 2 crosses, 4 key passes, 75 passes and 113 touches, which left him with a perfect 10/10. Again he showed that he is the best player in La Liga.

With this goal, he reached 10 this season, just 1 from being the top scorer in La Liga, and 27 this year. It is also important to note that he got his first assist this league season thanks to a goal from Lenglet, although he needed to create 10 big chances, 32 in total, for that to happen, and his xA is still considerably higher than his actual count.

It could easily have been a bigger difference, with at least 3 more that could have entered, either by the post or by poor definition, but in the end the victory was comfortable, and the fight for the title remains undecided.
