Lionel Messi is a near-unstoppable force with the ball at his feet, so players have sometimes needed to do some horror tackles to finally stop him. That's what today's entry is about, so let's get into those tackles.
This is perhaps the most known one. A kick to the eye from Amorebieta to Messi that left him on the ground.

Next up is Ramos' tackle on Messi in the 5-0 El Clásico back in 2010. That can't even be considered a tackle, that was a straight up kick on Messi just to try and stop him!
This one was in a Copa América final. Medel kicks Messi in the stomach and leaves him on the ground. Even then, he had a good performance in that game.
And the final one is Del Horno's brutal kick to Messi's knee when he was only 19 years old. Even this wasn't enough to end his career.
Even after all that, Messi keeps on going, showing how perseverant he is, another attribute that makes him so great.
