In his 44 El Clásico appearances, he has faced Ramos a lot of times. It has been a common occurrence for Messi to play around with Ramos, a story that goes back to Messi's first El Clásico appearance.
Despite Ramos being nominated 6 times for the Ballon d'Or, being 8 times in the UEFA Team of the Year, receiving 5 times the La Liga Best Defender award, being 11 times in the FIFA/FIFPro World XI, and numerous other awards, Messi has had no trouble humiliating him numerous times ever since 2005 all the way to today.
