Messi in the Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil is the biggest contemporary circus producer in the world, so for Messi to be in it means a lot. It was actually the first time they did a sports spectacle instead of music, which makes it even more important.

It was inaugurated on October 10th, 2019, after two years of working on the project, at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, which has 3100 seats available. Messi was present during the event. The show has 2 parts consisting of 45 minutes and a 25-minute break, having a personnel of 84 employees (47 of them being artists) performing on a stage that's 65x60x17 m.

They also did a documentary on RakutenTV called "MessiCirque" which details the creation of Messi10, premiering on November 21th, 2019. And there was also a Messi10 Challenge, where people were invited to an interactive experience where they could dribble, nutmeg an opponent, do a goal kick, and answering Messi trivia, which, if ranked up enough points, could crown you "Messi of the Day". It also included a VR experience showing memorable moments from Messi's career.

There was a planned world tour for 2020 according to the official website, but due to the pandemic, it couldn't be done. Overall, it's a great experience for contemporary circus lovers. I hope you liked this entry, and as always, I'll see you in the next blog.
